This summer, I will bike 80 miles to benefit Camp Simcha, a remarkable overnight camp that provides seriously ill children with a vacation from sickness, restoring their spirits and renewing their determination to fight.

This is my second time participating in Bike4chai, two years ago I rode over 100 miles and raised over $10,000 for the organization. WHY WOULD A TEENAGER WANT TO DO THIS? With all the time, energy and effort that it takes? I’ll tell you. Shortly after Bike4Chai started, Chai Lifeline came to Baltimore to recruit riders. My father Lonnie Borck was one of them. He felt very strongly about supporting Camp Simcha, and after that meeting, he really wanted to ride. At one point he even bought equipment, including the trainer that I’m using now. He wasn’t able to commit to it, and didn’t have a chance to do it. He tragically died suddenly almost four years ago. I am dedicating my ride in my father's memory, Chaim Leib Gidon ben Chuna Reuven z”l. I miss him so much, and it makes me proud to do something that he always wanted to do. I know he would be proud of me too.

Due to COVID 19 things are a little different this year but Camp Simcha is planning to open and very in need of funds in order to do so. I will be biking to camp on Thursday, August 13, 2020. My objective is to raise $5,000 by then, and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Please contribute by clicking on the donate button now.

Thank you for supporting me and helping me honor my father's memory, in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.

All the best,

Ezra
