Estos últimos meses han sido un desafío para todos nosotros. Sin embargo, los efectos de COVID-19 han sido devastadores para las familias con un niño gravemente enfermo. Cuidar a un niño enfermo es un desafío en circunstancias normales, hacerlo en medio de una crisis de salud global puede ser insoportable y solitario. Ahí es donde entra en escena Chai Lifeline, una red internacional de apoyo a la salud. Chai Lifeline está ahí no solo para ayudar a las personas a sobrellevarlo, están allí para ayudar a las personas a prosperar levantando el ánimo y llevando risa, felicidad y esperanza a los hogares. Y ahí es donde entro en la imagen.

Cada año, Bike4Chai, un evento de ciclismo de primer nivel, recauda fondos para Chai Lifeline, lo que les permite ofrecer programas y servicios críticos a sus casi 6,000 niños y familias en todo el mundo. Este año, el paseo Bike4Chai se adaptará para ser adecuado para estos tiempos inciertos. Si bien no sabemos lo que depara el futuro, sí sabemos que nuestros hijos y familias todavía cuentan con nosotros hoy. Aún debemos encontrar formas de traer felicidad y esperanza a las vidas de las personas afectadas por enfermedades pediátricas. No podemos, y no los defraudaremos. Me he comprometido a recaudar fondos para apoyar a Chai Lifeline a hacer lo que mejor saben hacer: asegurarme de que cada niño tenga una razón para sonreír.

These past few months have been challenging for all of us. However, the effects of COVID-19 have been devastating for families with a seriously ill child. Caring for a sick child is challenging under normal circumstances; doing so amid a global health crisis can be excruciating and lonely. That is where Chai Lifeline, an international health support network, comes into the picture. Chai Lifeline is there not only to help people cope; they are there to help people thrive by lifting their spirits and bringing laughter, happiness and hope into homes. And that is where I come into the picture.

Each year, Bike4Chai, a premier cycling event, raises funds for Chai Lifeline, enabling them to provide critical programs and services to its nearly 6,000 children and families across the globe. This year, Bike4Chai ride will adapt to be suitable for these uncertain times. While we don't know what the future holds, we do know that our children and families are still counting on us today. We must still find ways to bring happiness and hope into the lives of those impacted by pediatric illness. We cannot, and we will not let them down. I have committed myself to raising funds to support Chai Lifeline in doing what they do best: Making sure that every child has a reason to smile.
