Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you and yours are in the best of health, managing well, and thriving during these trying times. Something I have learned from the current situation is greater empathy for others who are experiencing the effects of isolation. I contemplate often about the children and families cared for by Chai Lifeline, experiencing uncertainty, isolation, and difficult challenges during times of serious illness. My observation is, our current isolation was not alone, the entire world was in the same boat, whereas the Children of Chai Lifeline are isolated while watching the world pass them by. The uncertainty of tomorrow, the next holiday or season is an ongoing worry… what will the next procedure, test or diagnosis bring? Will he be around for his next birthday? How will we keep his spirits up? This is where Chai Lifeline shines, with emotional, physical, logistical, and financial support. Aside from Chai Lifeline’s regular caseload, due to the current pandemic Chai Lifeline Crisis teams are providing countless family, school, and community interventions, and personal consultations to thousands across the globe.

My association with Chai Lifeline has always been through its largest fundraiser, Bike-4-Chai, supporting their Camp Simcha and other programs. Although we do not know what Camp will be like this year, it appears that it is too risky for the immune-compromised children, but Camp Simcha Special will open for children with other serious pediatric illnesses. Somehow Chai Lifeline will figure out how to give the children with cancer a memorable summer – they always do. As of now it looks like it will be “Camp Simcha Without Borders”, sending teams out to various cities and creating day camps for these children. Chai Lifeline’s largest fundraiser, Bike-4-Chai will be different this year. It will be a one-day ride from Vernon, NJ to Camp Simcha and back, and we will greet the campers via video screens. What is known, is the importance of this fundraiser for continuing the services of Chai Lifeline. Please help us keep Chai Lifeline’s services viable. Let us think of our own experiences these last few months and show empathy to these families by shouldering their burden along with Chai Lifeline. For many of these families, without Chai Lifeline to lean on for emotional support, logistical assistance, and physical help, their world would come crashing down around them.

Please partner with us, and in doing so, help children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath, of serious pediatric illness. Let them know that that they are not fighting their battles alone, but you and the supporters of Chai Lifeline are genuinely interested in their well being and success. Support them in this endeavor by supporting Chai Lifeline through this campaign. Please click on the "DONATE" button above and give generously.

In the merit of the generosity and compassion you show to others, may you and yours, be safe and able to weather any storm that crosses your path, and be blessed with the best of health, happiness, and success.
